KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head General Lesetja Senona at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria on January 29, 2026
KwaZulu-Natal Hawks Head General Lesetja Senona has testified that he’s not connected to his son’s business venture with attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
Senona continues to face cross-examination before the Madlanga Commission for his alleged links with Matlala.
The Commission, through Witness X, has revealed that Senona’s son Thato, was in the process of purchasing property with Matlala but the transaction did not occur.
Commissioner Sesi Baloyi has put it to Senona that the apartment was in fact being bought for him.
“The impression it creates to me, and I may be wrong about it, the impression it creates to me is that you are the one that Mr. Matlala and Thato were buying an apartment for or in relation to. That is really you are the real beneficiary of it, and Thato would have been a proxy in this transaction. That’s the impression I get, and I may be wrong.”
