Limpopo police continue search for missing three after floods


Limpopo police say the search for three people who were swept away by flood waters is continuing.

The remains of five-year-old Siyanda Baloyi and two bakkie occupants swept away by floods in Mbaula village outside Giyani and Tswinga village near Thohoyandou respectively, are yet to be found.

Baloyi was swept away when their house was flooded at Mbaula village two weeks ago.

His mother survived by clinging to a tree.

At Tswinga village near Thohoyandou, two bakkie occupants were swept away while they were crossing an overflowing low-lying bridge.

The bakkie has been retrieved. The search for the bodies continues.

Several people have been left homeless, bridges and roads damaged in the Vhembe, Mopani and Sekhukhune districts.
