Three of five suspects accused of killing former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa.
The state in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial intends to take defence witness Makhosonke Zungu through a signed statement this morning when the trial continues.
Five men are on trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.
Accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi, claimed he never had an oval-shaped beard as per the image of the identity kit of the alleged second intruder that entered Kelly Khumalo’s parental home in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg.
When shown old images of Ntanzi by state prosecutor Dr Ronnie Sibanda, Zungu spotted an oval-shaped beard.
Zungu: As I said, with regards to the beard, I cannot comment or say anything because I did not know him to be someone who keeps a beard.
Sibanda: But do you see it on that picture?
Zungu: Yes, I can see. I can see it is him, but, because to the beard I cannot comment what I see. It’s round.
Sibanda: So you can see the oval-shaped beard on that photo.
Zungu: Yes, I can see.
