The 29-year-old American Scottie Scheffler.
World number one, Scottie Scheffler, has started the 2026 season where he left off in 2025. The 29-year-old American won the American Express Tournament at La Quinta, California, for a 20th career title on the PGA Tour.
He’s only the third player to reach this milestone before the age of 30.
The other two were Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Such was his dominance that, despite a dumped ball in the water at the short 17th where he made a five, he won by four strokes.
He carded a final round six-under-par 66 for a total of 216 — 27-under — for the four rounds.
Australia’s Jason Day finished a distant second along with three other Americans, including Mauritius Open runner-up Ryan Gerard.
