City spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says testing teams are continuing to work hard restore power.
“The contractor has completed the required cable work on the last mini substation together with overnight repairs by the deport team, this may allow a higher electrical load to be safely carried for the eight affected mini substations. Earlier this morning, the systems operators team met with the testing section on site to review and adjust protection panel settings to support stable restoration,” says Mashigo.
