African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President Collen Malatji says the party’s National Chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, must explain himself over his unemployment remarks.
In an interview with SABC News, Mantashe linked youth unemployment to a lack of effort in applying for jobs.
Malatji warned that if Mantashe does not explain his comments, then young people will be left with no choice but take to the stage with their CVs in hand before ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa delivers his January 8 statement on Saturday.
The ANCYL President made the remarks at the Peter Mokaba Memorial Lecture at the JM Ntsime Hall in Mogwase in the North-West earlier Friday.
