Supporters optimistic of Bafana victory over Zimbabwe in AFCON clash

As Bafana Bafana prepares to face Zimbabwe in the final group B encounter of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, some football fans in Polokwane, in Limpopo say they are confident that South Africa will come out victorious.

The match will see the two sides battle to snatch a spot in the last 16.  Some fans say they believe in the squad.

“If Bafana Bafana plays well and they can use the opportunities they get. I predict the score of 2-1 or 1-0 looking at the goal difference that we have. If they can win 1-0 we can manage to qualify. If they can play like they played in the last game, I believe they can win. I don’t wish bad for Zimbabwe but South Africa needs this win. It is a win-win situation, but what I am sure about is that Bafana Bafana will win,” says a fan.

Soccer fans in KwaZulu-Natal are optimistic that Bafana Bafana will whip their arch soccer rival Zimbabwe in today’s AFCON match. Millions of soccer fans will be glued to their TV screens tonight, as a victory will pave the way to qualify for the round of 16.

Lehlohonolo Mofokeng and Grace Rananai believe the team will win the game based on the good performance they showed against Egypt.

“I have confidence in Bafana’s technical supremacy over Zimbabwe and I don’t foresee any results except win over Bafana but the group is highly contested one considering if Angola wins. and it means we will go down to goal difference and to CAF rules,” says Mofokeng.

“I have full hope for Bafana-Bafana because they have been playing very good and I have seen them playing against Egypt and they were good it just that we had a lot of missed opportunities but I think we will definitely win this game,” says says fan, Rananai.

Meanwhile, others have some advice to the team and the coach.

“The wingers are not in their job and that is the job of the coach. Bring the ball to the center to commit opponent because if you want to play watch the keeper but South Africa will win Monday’s game and they will beat Zimbabwe no matter what,” says another fan, Sema Abara.

“So far I don’t see any changes and I think Coach Broos must stay with the team he has. I don’t see any more changes,” says fan, Tshekiso Sekate.
