Marius van der Merwe funeral
The funeral service of slain Madlanga Commission witness, Marius van der Merwe has concluded at Medley House in Brakpan, Gauteng.
Van der Merwe, also known as Witness D, was shot dead outside his Brakpan home just over a week ago.
His assassination came just weeks after he testified before the commission in Pretoria.
Van der Merwe implicated suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department Deputy Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi in criminal activity.
His death has sparked calls for the improved protection of whistleblowers in the country.
