Warrick “DJ Warris” Stock’s murder crime scene in the Joburg CBD, December 16, 2025.
The Stock family says the senseless nature of the passing of Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock has left them devastated and broken.
Warris, described as a respected media personality, activist and businessman, was gunned down in the Johannesburg CBD on Tuesday.
His family attended the crime scene until his body was removed by the forensic pathology services.
Emotional family members and friends watched the lifeless body of their loved one lying on the pavement in the CBD for hours, while the crime scene was combed for any clues that could lead to the arrest of the killers.
When the body was finally removed and taken to the mortuary, some family members emptied 5 litre bottles to wash away the blood.
They have described Warras as a devoted son, a loving and proud father, a cherished brother, uncle, and who was the heart and anchor of his family.
In a statement, they say he brought light, laughter, and strength into every space he occupied.
He leaves behind his three young children, his mother and his siblings, whose lives have been irrevocably changed by this profound loss.
As the family begins the painful journey of mourning, they have humbly asked for privacy, compassion, and understanding during this difficult time.
