The investigating officer in the bail application of a prominent Limpopo musician says some police officers and NPA officials are being investigated for alleged misconduct.
Warrant Officer Phaladi Makola says some officers and court officials allegedly aided the musician, Lehlohonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebe Maburna, to get bail in his previous court appearances.
Shebe Maburna is applying for bail in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court. He’s accused of several counts of attempted murder and assault. Makola says most offences were committed while Shebe Maburna was out on bail.
“Because he knew that he will commit, he will get protection. The case will be cancelled, some cases will disappear. He continued to be like this, but we already launched an investigation with the people that were helping him to evade justice in the police, in the NPA that they must answer what was happening.”
