The funeral of the 43-year-old police officer who was stabbed to death in Malelane, Mpumalanga, will take place on Sunday.
Sergeant Joyce Ngomane was killed allegedly by her husband on Tuesday night after an altercation.
It is alleged that the couple had marital challenges since 2018.
She was attached to the Tonga police station and was murdered a week after the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Her husband, a teacher, is facing charges of murder and violation of a protection order.
The accused appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court and his matter was adjourned until Tuesday for the appointment of a legal representative.
