The 43-year-old police officer stabbed to death in Ntunda East of Malelane, Mpumalanga will be laid to rest on Sunday. Sergeant Joyce Ngomane was allegedly killed by her husband after an altercation at their home on Tuesday night.
It is alleged that the couple had marital challenges since 2018. Ngomane was attached to the Tonga police station was murdered a week after the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Her husband, a teacher is facing charges of murder and violation of a protection order.
The accused appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court and his matter was adjourned until Tuesday for an appointment of a legal representative.
