Convicted murderer appears at the Bloemfontein High Court in the Free State on 05 December 2025.
Convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester and co-accused Nandipha Magudumana have submitted that they need more time to finalise their pending legal matters.
They appeared in the Bloemfontein High Court in the Free State for another pre-trial hearing.
The accused are facing various charges, including aiding Bester to escape from prison, arson and violating a corpse.
Bester’s legal representative, Moafrika Wa Maila, has argued that the pending matters have a direct impact on the deportation case, which is in the High Court in Pretoria.
Wa Maila has submitted that the six pending cases they want to conclude before the trial are linked to the main trial.
The cases also include applying for Bester’s funds to finance his defence, amongst others.
Meanwhile, Magudumana wants to finalise her matter with the Constitutional Court to have her arrest in Tanzania declared unlawful.
She could not, however, appear in court on time.
Her legal representative, Machini Motloung, says she was ready in the morning and was fetched late by South African Police Service members.
The new date for the pre-trial is March 18, 2026.
