Khumalo cleared to return to work after court lifts bail restrictions

Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo has been cleared to return to work after the High Court in Pretoria lifted his bail restrictions.

Khumalo has approached the court to have his bail conditions relaxed after an internal probe cleared him.

Khumalo and two co-accused had appealed the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court’s initial ruling.

They face charges related to the alleged irregular appointment of Dineo Mokwele to a senior post in Crime Intelligence, allegedly without proper vetting.

The High Court has now found that the restriction was arbitrary and incorrect.
