Limpopo rehab centre owner nabbed over murder of patient

The owner of a rehabilitation centre at Spitskop village outside Polokwane, Limpopo has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old patient.

This brings to six the number of suspects arrested.

Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says the suspects allegedly assaulted five patients who had escaped from the centre resulting in the death of one, earlier this month.

Ledwaba says the rehabilitation centre was operating illegally.

“The rehabilitation centre was found to be operating illegally. The total number of suspects arrested is now six. They will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrates’ Court on Monday facing charges of murder and assault,” adds Ledwaba.
