Aftermath of a shack fire in Ekurhuleni
Five family members have died in a shack fire at Steve Biko informal settlement in Etwatwa, Ekurhuleni, on Sunday night.
Ekurhuleni Emergency services says firefighters arrived and found the roomed shack engulfed in flames.
Father, mother and three children all perished in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
Only one person survived the fire, a male teenager as he was asleep in his outside room, built few meters away from the main house.
