Hundreds expected to attend King Misuzulu’s wedding of Queen Myeni


People have started to arrive at the AmaZulu royal palace in KwaKhangelamankengane near Nongoma in northern KwaZulu-Natal ahead of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s traditional wedding.

He is getting married to Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni later today.

The Queen will be the monarch’s second wife after Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela..

Local women, dressed in their finest clothes, are singing and dancing outside the palace.

Hundreds of people, including community members, relatives, friends of the Zulu Royal family, as well as foreign dignitaries, are expected to attend King Misuzulu‘s traditional wedding.

The palace spokesperson Prince Gibizizwe Zulu, says, “This is the continuation of Friday’s event but today is the traditional wedding and we expect thousands of people from local and outside the country to attend the wedding. The King will be tying knot with Queen Nomzamo Myeni from Jozini and she will be brought by senior members of Myeni family as our culture.”
