Case of slain ANC councillor Ntshangase postponed to next year


The trial of three men accused of killing an African National Congress councillor, Sbonelo Ntshangase, and two others will be back in the High Court sitting in Breyton, Mpumalanga, in June next year.

The killings happened in Mkhondo in January 2023.

So far, more than nine state witnesses, including police officers and surviving victims, have testified.

The accused Bongani Dlamini, Blessing Ntombela, and Andile Gamede are facing charges of murder as well as unlawful possession of a firearm, and ammunition.

Meanwhile, Gamede is facing an additional charge of contravening the Immigration Act.
