Heatwave expected to hit Cape Town on Friday

The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management and SA Weather Service has cautioned the public against high temperatures expected on Friday.

Disaster Risk Management spokesperson, Sonica Lategan, says the hot temperatures are expected to climb to 30°C , which also increases the risk of veld fires.

She asked the public to stay out of direct sunlight, wear light clothing and sunscreen, remain hydrated, and pay particular attention to the well-being of children, the elderly and other vulnerable groups.
