The cross-examination of accused number one in the former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Muzi Sibiya, is expected to continue on Thursday morning.
Sibiya claims he was living in KwaZulu-Natal in 2014, the year Meyiwa was murdered.
He is appearing at the High Court in Pretoria with four co-accused for Meyiwa’s murder.
The state has submitted transactions from different accounts registered to Sibiya, with most withdrawals conducted in Gauteng in 2014.
Sibiya says the bank cards were in the possession of Mbali Moyo, the mother of his child.
State Prosecutor Adv George Baloyi then provided details of a card replacement that he says could only be done by the account holder.
“On 29th September 2014, there’s a branch card replacement fee of R40, so that means it could only have been you, Mr Sibiya, that could ask for a card replacement.”
Sibiya replied: “It’s possible that I’m the one who had changed the card if it happened on that day. If I remember correctly, I think this card I opened in Lesedi.”
Baloyi asked: “Is that Vosloorus?” And Sibiya replied, Yes.
Baloyi then replied: “So that means that on the 29th of September 2014, you were in Gauteng, on your own version.”
