Meyiwa trial to focus on accused one’s whereabouts in 2013

The State in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is on Wednesday expected to continue interrogating the claims that accused number one, Muzi Sibiya, was living in KwaZulu-Natal during the year the soccer captain was murdered.

Sibiya maintains he was not around the Gauteng province between 2013 and 2015  as he was living in KwaZulu-Natal.

He is appearing at the High Court in Pretoria alongside four other accused for the murder of the Bafana Bafana Captain in October 2014.

The state has provided bank transactions that show that most bank transactions in 2014 occurred in Gauteng.

Sibiya has admitted the account is his; however, he claims the mother of his child was the one using the card.

“I don’t know about all these transactions. What I’m saying is that in 2013, when I left for KZN, I left all my cards with Mbali,  because we have a child together and from time to time she would be expected to receive money so that she can continue maintaining the child, for the maintenance of the child.”
