Crime Intelligence Head General, Dumisani Khumalo has testified that he was not consulted about the disbandment of the political killings task team (PKTT).
This is the first time that General Khumalo has spoken about the disbandment of the PKTT since beginning his testimony at the Madlanga Commission.
The PKTT is at the centre of the Madlanga Commission which is looking into allegations of political interference and the infiltration of criminal syndicates in law enforcement agencies.
General Khumalo told the Commission that the disbandment of the PKTT on 31 December 2025, came as a surprise to him.
“I had never been given an opportunity to brief the Ministry. I’ve never received any complaints or signs of unhappiness. I was never consulted when the letter was drafted and finalized, it came as a surprise even to myself.”
