File: Police recover firearms.
Police have arrested ten suspects and seized firearms and ammunition in Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
They face charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, “The members conducted an intelligence-driven operation in Watt Court, Woodlands and searched the identified premises. Three 9mm pistols with ammunition were seized, and suspects aged between 18 and 36 were arrested for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.”
