Ten men accused of robbing the Malamulele police station of firearms and ammunition in 2021 are expected to appear in the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo today.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)says the men allegedly stormed the police station, overpowered officers, and stole firearms from the safe.
The men allegedly went on a spate of robberies in areas including Malamulele, Giyani, Bolobedu, Botlokwa, Bandelierkop in Limpopo and Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga.
They allegedly stole cash, cell phones and jewellery from shops. The suspects were arrested in January 2022. NPA spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi.
“The trial of ten men accused of robbing fire arms from Malamulele Police station and carrying out a series of armed robberies across Limpopo and Mpumalanga is resuming in the Polokwane High Court on 3 November 2025.”
Malabi-Dzhangi adds, “they are facing 94 charges including conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, attempted murder, murder, malicious damage to property and possession of explosives.”
