A paramedic who responded to the Reiger Park mass shooting in Ekurhuleni has described the scene that confronted him as horrific.
Six people, including three women, were shot dead and three others were left injured after suspects driving in two vehicles started shooting randomly on Saturday night.
The motive for the attack is not known at this stage. And police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
Paramedic Kevin Koopman says it saddens him that some of the deceased were young people.
Koopman says some of the victims were executed.
“This is really horrific, it is sad that we have to lose young people in our communities. You know, when a young person dies, a whole generation is lost. This is what is happening in our community. We pray and ask that law enforcement can be on the ground. We want crime intelligence to be on the ground 24/7 so that these perpetrators can be arrested,” says Koopman.
