AKA murder accused in Eswatini withdraw extradition appeal

Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has welcomed the confirmation that the accused in the murder of musician Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello Motsoane, have withdrawn their appeal against extradition from Eswatini to South Africa.

Kubayi received an update today from the National Directorate of Public Prosecutions confirming receipt of a Notice of Abandonment from Eswatini authorities.

The minister says she is of the view that the withdrawal of Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande’s appeal will bring the extradition process closer to being finalized.

Forbes and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were gunned down outside a popular nightlife venue in the province in 2023.

The alleged mastermind Mzwithemba Gwabeni and co-accused Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Lindani Ndimande, Siyanda Myeza and Lindokuhle Ndimande, were arrested about a year later.

They are facing charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering.
