52-year-old East London woman denied bail in human trafficking case

The East London Magistrate’s Court has denied bail for the 52-year-old Eastern Cape woman who faces charges of human trafficking and forcing young girls into prostitution.

Vuyokazi Gana, who is employed as a Deputy Principal at a local school, is accused of running a brothel at her house in the suburb of Quigney in East London.

The court says that, should she be granted bail, she would endanger the lives of potential witnesses, as she is aware of their identities.
