Mr Jerry Boshoga
Witness ‘C’ testified that a Pretoria businessman and farmer Jerry Boshoga, who was kidnapped over a year ago, had been on the premises of Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
Witness ‘C’ is testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.
He was roped in the Gauteng Counter-intelligence Ops from the Political Killings Task Team in December 2024 to help with the search for Boshoga.
His abductors have been demanding a R25-million ransom.
Cutting Edge | The Disappearance of Jerry Boshoga
Witness ‘C’ is focusing on the events at Matlala’s residence during a search and seizure operation. He says he strongly believes that the sheet that was used to tie Boshoga in the ransom video is the same one that they found on Matlala’s premises.
“But there was a white sheet that was very distinctive because it had torn edges and sides because it was manually tied to the window as a curtain and that white sheet is distinctive. In one of the videos for the ransom that was sent to the family of Jerry Boshoga, we could see that the sheet resembles the same as that of the video.”
Madlanga Commission | Witness C to testify
Witness ‘C’ has testified that Matlala denied any involvement in the kidnapping of Pretoria businessman Jerry Boshoga.
He says Matlala told him that he was assisting Boshoga’s family in locating him due to his experience in the security industry.
“But he indicated that Jerry Boshoga owed people money and he was in a drug business; he further informed us he (himselfn – Cat Matlala) had lent Mr Boshoga an amount of R5 million as he wanted to buy a machine for processing drugs.”
