The trial of the man charged with the murder of Hillary Gardee is expected to resume on Monday in the Mpumalanga division of the High Court sitting in Mbombela.
Rassie Nkuna is charged with the murder of the daughter of the EFF deputy president, Godrich Gardee, in 2022.
The accused is also serving a life sentence for the murder of his girlfriend and her sister.
The 36-year-old murder accused allegedly confessed to the murder of Hillary Gardee, who was kidnapped in Mbombela in 2022.
Nkuna allegedly used his Facebook account to lure unsuspecting women to their deaths, leading authorities to suspect he might be a serial killer.
Nkuna allegedly committed this murder while on parole.
Gardee has accused the state of negligence. He claims that if Nkuna had been kept in custody, his daughter would still be alive.
The trial proceedings are expected to last for the next two weeks.
