About 1000 matric learners will hold a prayer session in Qwaqwa in the eastern Free State on Monday ahead of the start of the 2025 national senior certificate final examinations. The exams will start on Tuesday with Computer Applications Tech and language papers.
Provincial Education Department says at least 40 000 matric learners will write the exams in the Free State this year.

The province maintained its top position in last year’s matric exams.
The department’s spokesperson, Howard Ndaba says, “We are also inviting various churches to be part of this prayer where we are praying for our learners to perform well. We are also taking this opportunity to motivate our learners and wish them the best of luck. We are targeting 45 percent Bachelor passes and 95 percent pass rate.”
