The Mpumalanga High Court will today hear the late former deputy president David Mabuza’s daughter’s urgent application.
She is seeking a share of her father’s R44.7 pension fund.
Mabuza’s daughter claims that she is owed a portion of the pension for her living and educational expenses.
The complainant filed an urgent application to block the release of the pension to Mabuza’s widow, who is her stepmother.
She argues that releasing the funds to one person would be unfair, as there are multiple dependents.
Mabuza served as South Africa’s deputy president from 2018 to 2023.
He died in July this year.
