Two suspects arrested in connection with truck hijacking in Tembisa


Police say two suspects have been arrested for hijacking a truck with goods on Gauteng’s East Rand.

Ekurhuleni Metro Police Officers received information about the whereabouts of the suspects and proceeded to a residence in Midrand yesterday.

The first male suspect was found in the vicinity and was arrested.

They then proceeded to the second residence in Sithama section in Tembisa, where the second male suspect was arrested.

Police spokesperson, Katlego Mphahlele says the two will appear in court soon.

“During these arrests, stolen goods worth over R200,000, including law enforcement uniform were recovered. The suspects were detained at the Tembisa and Midrand Police Station, facing charges of Truck hijacking and possession of stolen goods. They are expected to appear in the Magistrate Court soon.”
