A severe thunderstorm accompanied by heavy downpours and damaging winds is expected to hit areas in the north-east of KwaZulu-Natal and last until 11pm this evening.
The severe weather pattern is expected to persist in areas such as Ladysmith, Estcourt, Msinga, Nkandla, Mooi-River and many others.
Residents are urged to take extra precaution as the bad weather could lead to localised flooding and damage to infrastructure.
