Earlier this month, Samro defended reinstating three publishers named in the Fundudzi Forensic Report, which flagged R3,4 in alleged fraud, following last month’s Extraordinary General Meeting.
Samro says it is focused on ensuring the organisation remains well-governed, transparent, and responsive to its members, while building on recent successes.
The board will also begin the process of filling vacant positions to ensure the organisation is fully equipped to drive its next chapter of growth.
Maweni will continue to lead the board until 1 October 2025, to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.
