KZN man sentenced to life for multiple murders in Polokwane court

A 34-year-old man from Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal has started to serve a life term after the High Court in Polokwane sentenced him on Thursday.

Nkosinathi Hadebe had been found guilty of multiple counts of murder, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms.

He had killed a taxi owner in Botlokwa in 2018 and another taxi owner in Louis Trichardt in 2020.

Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba says Hadebe had also been convicted of three attempted murder charges.

“The court ordered that the sentences in Counts 2 to 7 run concurrently with the sentence in Count 1. As a result, the accused will serve an effective 25-year imprisonment.”
