‘Pastry Princess’ Thembekile Letlape’s killer to be sentenced

The sentencing of the man convicted of murdering his partner and celebrity chef, Thembekile Letlape, affectionately known as the Pastry Princess, will take place today at the Johannesburg High Court.

Sibusiso Zitha was found guilty of Letlape’s murder in July after pleading guilty.

Letlape’s body was discovered in her Fourways home in northern Johannesburg by her father last year.

Sibusiso Zitha admitted to stabbing his partner multiple times during an argument in front of their then 10-year-old daughter.

Her father, Dr Kgosi Letlape, went searching for her after she sent her mother a troubling text message. While the family has expressed deep pain over losing their daughter, they say they find some solace in being spared the trauma of a drawn-out trial.

At her memorial service last year, Letlape’s father paid his daughter a moving tribute.
