Money stolen at Phala Phala from sale of 20 buffalo: State witness

The millions of rand in foreign currency that were stolen at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm, were from the sale of 20 buffalo.

This is the evidence of the state witness, who was acting lodge manager on the farm at the time of theft.

He was testifying against the accused, Immanuela David and siblings Floriana and Ndilinasho Joseph in the Modimolle Regional Court in Limpopo.

State prosecutor Advocate Nkhetheni Munyai submitted proof of payment for the sale of buffalo to be accepted as evidence before court.

The witness, who cannot be identified, says he is the one who facilitated the sale and hid the money in the sofas.

“I want you to have look at this copy that perhaps of buffalo selected by Nazim confirm if your familiar with that? I confirm I do recognise what is in this document is the tag number that I selected or that I wrote them down. That was for the 20 buffalo?”
