Motorists are urged to exercise caution when traveling in and around Westbury due to the ongoing protests in the Coronationville area.
The community is protesting over prolonged water outages, resulting in roadblocks on Perth Road, Harmony Street and Fuel Road near Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department spokesperson Xolani Fihla says traffic officers have been deployed to monitor the situation.
“The situation remains calm, despite the road closures. The officers are still assisting with diverting vehicles away from the affected areas and will continue to monitor the area for any further disturbances and disruptions.”
