The 25-year-old man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping, raping and murdering six-year-old Amantle Samane is set to hear his fate at the Johannesburg High Court on Monday.
Phethe Simiao will be sentenced on the kidnapping, rape, murder and contravention of the Immigration Act charges
The Mozambican national has admitted to kidnapping, raping and killing the six-year-old girl.
Amantle’s body was found in Simiao’s shack in Orlando, Soweto, in October last year.

During his last appearance, the court dealt with pre-sentencing proceedings where Samane’s mother took the stand, talking about how her child’s death affected the family.
She asked the court to give Simiao at least 3 life sentences.
