The aftermath of the fatal car accident that claimed five lives in Limpopo.
Five people, including two children, have been killed and two seriously injured in a head-on collision between two sedans on the R574 at Tafelkop in the Sekhukhune District in Limpopo.
The injured drivers of both vehicles are currently hospitalised.
Transport Department Spokesperson, Tshifhiwa Dali, says all the deceased were Mozambican nationals from one vehicle.
Dali says Transport and Community Safety MEC, Violet Mathye, has expressed condolences to the families of the bereaved and those injured.
“A horrific accident occurred around midday along the R574 road in Tafelkop, Elias Motsoaledi Municipality Sekhukhune District. Preliminary reports indicate that the two sedans collided head-on resulting in fatalities and serious injuries. The accident claimed the lives of five passengers from one car, including three adults and infant and one child all from a neighbouring country. Drivers from both cars were injured and were transported (to) hospital. The MEC for Transport and Community Safety Violet Mathye expressed her sadness over the incident,” says Dali.
