Police have arrested two of the four suspects wanted in connection with the murder of Kestell businessman, Mohammed Shamsul Alam, who was shot and killed inside his shop in February last year.
It is alleged that on the day of the incident, four unknown men entered the shop and fired several shots at the businessman in full view of his girlfriend.
Police Spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says the victim was declared dead on the scene.
Mophiring says the suspects fled on foot without taking anything.
“The first suspect was nabbed at Makgolokweng Village near Harrismith on Friday while the second suspect was arrested in Harrismith on Saturday. Police say the second suspect is already out on bail for another murder case. Both men in their 30s will appear in Kestell Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning (Mondy 25 August) facing murder charges as the hunt continues for the remaining two suspects.”
