Two women accused of torching the Home Affairs building in Germiston in Ekurhuleni are expected to appear in a local magistrate’s court on Thursday morning.
The pair is facing charges of public violence and damaging infrastructure.
This follows a protest that led to the burning of the building on Tuesday last week.
Tenants of the Pharoe Park flats went on the rampage during an eviction operation, following a court order against those who were not paying rent.
More than 400 households were evicted.
During their last court appearance on Tuesday, residents of the Pharoe Park were present in solidarity to support the two accused, saying that they are being framed.
Consequently, Malwande Dukula and Mandisa Mbocwana pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
They both told the court that they can afford a bail of R1000 each, should their bail application be successful.
