The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has clarified misconceptions regarding the development of its new sales operating model. This follows media reports that the public broadcaster is reducing staff in the sales division.
The SABC has described the reports as misleading and irresponsible. It has confirmed that it has initiated an organisational design review to ensure that the sales function is fit for purpose, both for the current market realities and for the future.
The Broadcasting Corporation further says that the intention of this process is not to cut costs, but to realign roles, reorganise functions, and create efficiencies that better serve its mandate and commercial objectives.
