Amakhosi celebrate 2-0 victory against Stellenbosch FC

Kaizer Chiefs are off to a winning start in the 2025-26 Betway Premiership campaign. The Amakhosi registered a hard-fought 2-nil win away against 10-man Stellenbosch FC at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday evening.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo opened the scoring with a powerful shot from a dead-ball situation following a foul by Siviwe Nkwali, who was shown a red card on his debut for the offense on Mduduzi Shabalala.

The 10-man Stellies put in a good fight, but their efforts were in vain as they failed to find the back of the net, mostly due to goalkeeper Brandon Peterson’s incredible work between the sticks for Chiefs. In the last minute of the encounter, forward Ashley du Preez was brought down inside the penalty box and Congolese Glody Lilepo stepped up and made it 2-nil to the visitors.
