Man dies in Loftus in a suspected gang-related shooting


A 26-year-old man has died in a hail of bullets during an alleged gang-related shooting incident at Loftus River in Cape Town last night.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg says the victim was walking when a car pulled up next to him and the occupants started shooting.

He says police found the deceased with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

“According to reports, the victim was walking on the road when a vehicle drove up to him and the occupants started shooting at the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related. Grassy Park detectives are investigating a murder case.”
