Family members of a 34-year-old woman whose head and that of her two-year-old child were decapitated say they will not be able to heal from the brutal murder of their loved ones.
The bodies of Rendani Tshigwili and her daughter, Ndiwatshilidzi Muronga were discovered without heads in Tshikonelo village outside Thohoyandou on Wednesday last week.
Police say the bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
The heads were recovered from two traditional healers last Saturday.
The traditional healers and two others have since been arrested and will appear at the Tshaulu Periodical Court next Tuesday.
The deceased woman’s mother, Gladys Tshigwili says, “I am in pain. I may never heal from the trauma knowing how my child and my grandchild were killed in such a brutal manner. The police did their work and for the last three month since they vanished, we had hoped that they will be found but not in this way. We really appreciate the police for doing their work. This has brought some closure even though we going to be burying their remains and not their complete bodies.”
