Two arrested in half a million-rand drug bust in KZN


A foreign national man and a South African woman has been arrested following police raids on two apartments in Durban.  

Police found various types of drugs with a total street value of about half a million rand. 

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says members of the provincial organised crime unit acted on intelligence that was gathered when they raided the apartments in Westville and in an estate in Hillcrest.  

Netshiunda says the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.   

“On Monday, 28th July 2025, police executed search warrants at two apartments, one on Flanethorn Drive in Westville and the other at an estate in Hillcrest. During the raid the police found ecstacy tablets, ecstacy powder, heroin capsules, cocaine bags and crystal meth with an estimated street value of over half a million rand. “
