A woman and her brother were shot dead in Soweto last night during her birthday celebration. It’s alleged that a Police Captain shot and killed the woman, who was his girlfriend and also a fellow police officer together with her brother before turning the gun on himself.
South African Police Service spokesperson in Gauteng, Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says three other people sustained injuries.
“The captain reportedly called the girlfriend to the side and that is when people saw him draw the firearm, shooting the girlfriend and her brother dead, leaving three other civilians with injuries. Two counts of murder, three counts of attempted and an inquest docket were opened for further investigations.”
