The mother of 11-year-old Jayden-Leek Meek has been charged with his murder at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
The bail application of Tiffany Meek, who is accused of killing her son Jayden-Lee Meek, will continue in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court west of Johannesburg today.
The officer who wishes not to be named confirmed observing blood on Jayden-Lee’s pillow during an inspection of Meek’s home.
Meek has questioned the manner in which police have handled the investigation into the death of her son and claims that she has been framed.
Magistrate Anneline Africa made this request to the state’s legal team: “I want still photos and videos. I want the state to have compiled two exhibits and albums for myself and the photos as well as any available things that we will be looking at. We want the page of the school work, court’s copy of the postmortem.”
The state is opposing bail, arguing that releasing Meek would not serve the interests of justice.
