The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is forecasting cold weather with temperatures peaking at 17 degrees in parts of Gauteng for this week.
Partly cloudy conditions are expected from Monday afternoon.
Residents are urged to use safe devices to keep warm and to never leave a device with a naked flame unattended.

Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela says maximum temperatures to peak at 17 degrees in Johannesburg, Vereeniging and 18 in Pretoria.
“For our weather tomorrow, we are still expecting partly cloudy conditions for most parts of the province with cool temperatures over the northern parts. Cloudy conditions are expected to persist for the central and eastern parts of Gauteng, otherwise we can expect partly cloudy conditions and cold temperatures over the southern parts of Gauteng,” says Thobela.
